Sarah was born in Chicago and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas where she attended a Christian school from first through twelfth grade. After years of performing, her family finally couldn't take her horrible singing so they put her in voice lessons leading to her being in musicals all through high school. When it came time to go to college, she decided to study opera at the University of Houston.

Born and raised in Houston, Evan attended six different schools growing up while maintaining a strong relationship with God, his church, and his family. Although Evan has many interests, sports being at the top of his list, the growing adoration for music and performing that began when he took up the Euphonium led to his dedication to music when he went to the University of Houston to study music education.
Our Love Story
Evan and Sarah met their first day of college in their 8 am theory class. But, as is their way, they have to do things in their own time and in their own fashion. Their paths crossed many times. They had several classes together, mutual friends, and even shared a study group once in a while. Sarah was always attracted to Evan so, after four years, when the small interactions added up to tell her he was different from the average music major, she decided to take matters into her own hands. A child of the age of technology, Sarah knew the first step she should take should be Facebook. It wasn’t long after they started chatting online before she started dropping hints that they should go to a movie or get a drink. Sarah had all but given up hope that he would be more than a friend when Evan finally suggested they go for a drink after a long day of classes and rehearsals. As they sat sipping their beers, they were both surprised how much they had in common and how comfortable they felt with each other. Although their connection was immediately palpable to everyone in the music school, it wasn’t until weeks into dating that Evan finally held Sarah’s hand. Much to Sarah’s chagrin, it was another couple of weeks before he hugged her. So when days later he asked if he could kiss her goodnight, Sarah very eagerly exclaimed, “Yeah!” Evan had already been applying to graduate schools before Sarah came into his life, so he knew early on he didn’t want to lose her when he moved. After just a month of dating, he asked her to come with him wherever he went. When he got into Northwestern University, he asked again. This time she said yes. Since she had to add a year onto her degree plan, they braced themselves for a year of long distance. After months of calling, skyping, and nonstop texting, Evan knew he couldn’t stand to be away from Sarah for that long again. He came home for the summer and started planning his proposal to her. Wanting to catch her off guard, he told her he wanted to take her out to dinner and a movie for a date night. Knowing the door to Sarah’s heart, he took her to an Italian restaurant. Halfway through dinner, he said he wasn’t in the mood for a movie and asked if they could go to a park and walk around, a favorite past-time of theirs. Walking around the park, Evan couldn’t wait any longer, so he said he wanted to try to make the movie and tried to rush Sarah back to the car. He told her to close her eyes. She looked at him suspiciously, so he said it again. She cautiously closed her eyes. He continued to talk to her to calm her nerves as he put on a tie and got down on one knee.
